heathcote

The 2025 growing season in Heathcote featured generally warm conditions with seasonal rainfall early in the year that helped ground moisture and canopy development. Warm, dry weather through ripening supported steady progress toward harvest, with warm days and cool nights helping preserve balance and develop flavour, resulting in healthy vineyards and quality fruit across the region.

GI

Heathcote, Victoria.

VINEYARD

Tellurian Vineyard.

WINEMAKING

Harvested in the cool of the morning. The fruit was transported to the winery and immediately crushed and de-stemmed into open-top fermenters and inoculated. The wine received gentle pump overs twice daily. After approximately 10 days on skins the wine was pressed and racked to French oak (10% new) for malolactic fermentation and maturation. Each parcel was kept separate until blending to build layers and complexity
into the wine.

NOSE & PALATE

Deeply fruited and expressive on the nose, showing blackberry, plum and dark cherry with hints of spice and ironstone. The palate is powerful yet poised and fresh, with ripe tannins, layered fruit and a long, balanced finish reflecting Heathcote’s natural intensity.

FOOD PAIRING

Grilled lamb koftas with flatbread and spiced eggplant.

Jeni Port

"Instantly recognisable as Heathcote shiraz with those deep purple hues and the scent of cassis, blueberry, leafy Aussie bush notes and peppery spice. That spiciness offers an enduring high note on a palate alive in ripe black and blue fruits, licorice, earth, dark spices and vanilla pod with hints of savoury undergrowth. Supple tannins contribute to the overall liveliness of the wine and its high drinkability factor."

WINE PILOT

Shanteh Wale

"Fruit is from Heathcote, dark pigmented and inky in the glass. There is blood orange and dark plums, once again in this Pacha Mama line, fruit is the centre of attention with a small portion of new oak, 10%. A flicker of dark olive and sage leaf, some beetroot and sandy tannins. This will live on, another 4-6 years in the cellar but its drinking very well now, perky with clear intensity of fruit and taut structural lines. A very impressive vintage and stellar value here. Drink with shredded pork tacos or oxtail pasta."
